Rachel Angeles - Resource Teacher

Rachel Angeles HeadshotRachel Angeles is a Central Office Resource Teacher with Restorative Justice Practices. She plans to invite critical awareness, community, and joy into all educational spaces in this role.

Rachel began her career in educational justice in 2011, working in various capacities in youth development across San Diego. She holds a B.A. in Sociology from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), an M.A. in Education Studies from National University, and an M.Ed. in Education Leadership from High Tech High Graduate School of Education. She is also a RISE Urban Principal Preparation (RISE UPP) 2020 fellow with the San Diego County of Education (SDCOE).

Of the various roles in education, being a high school Humanities teacher was Rachel’s favorite, as she cherished all her connections with students, families, and staff. In these spaces, she was a mentor to various cultural student-led groups such as All Over Asia (AOA), Black Student Union (BSU), and many more. She believes that education is one of the most powerful social and political tools in helping young people become the best versions of themselves.

Rachel’s dream for San Diego schools is for young people to recognize their worth and that we will always be enough for ourselves.
