Stormwater

San Diego Unified School District implements what are known as storm water management Best Management Practices (BMP's) at all school sites. BMP's are methods used to keep pollutants out of storm drains and off our beaches.

Contaminated stormwater is a pollutant source to our beaches. Storm drains carry runoff from streets, residential and commercial areas, industrial sites and open spaces directly into our waterways.

Stormwater Training

Pollutant Prevention starts by educating and training district staff to understand and apply methods to help prevent pollution from entering the storm drain system.
